Gum Disease: The Benefits of Laser Gum Disease Treatment

Thanks to advancements in laser dentistry it is now easier than ever before to have laser gum disease treatment. Also, unlike traditional forms of gum disease treatment laser gum surgery is minimally invasive and it also offers the patient less discomfort. In addition, laser gum surgery is more precise meaning that the bad gum tissue is able to be removed without affecting the remaining good tissue.

The Pinhole Surgical Technique

The Pinhole Surgical Technique is designed to be minimally invasive thus providing minimal discomfort for the dental patient. Essentially, traditional gum grafting would involve making smaller incisions and could often include taking gum tissue from other parts of the mouth to surgically place on other parts of the mouth that have receding gums. Unlike traditional gum grafting the Pinhole Surgical Technique does not utilize gum grafting. As the name would suggest the Pinhole Surgical Technique involves making a small pinhole incision above the tooth that is suffering from gum recession and using this pinhole to move gum tissue around until the tender exposed root is covered with newly replaced healthy tissue.

Understanding Toothaches

We have all probably dealt with a toothache at some point in our lives.  Toothaches are the result of several different factors.  The pain that stems from a toothache is always apparent, normally in the form of throbbing, but the factor may not be.  The pain will sometimes intensify as time goes by, when you eat, lay down, or drink hot/cold liquids.  Toothaches are very painful, and it may seem that no matter what you do - it continues to hurt more.

The Benefits of Bone Grafting

Dental implants include a few different components which may include but is not limited too the need for bone grafting. Before a dental implant surgery can occur, certain things need to be considered such as whether or not there is enough bone to hold the implant in place. While many might believe that not having enough bone would mean they are not eligible for dental implants this is simply just not the case. Bone grafting is the solution for anyone who does not have enough bone to support the dental implant. Dental anxiety over going dentist is a problem that many people have, and something that is somewhat difficult to overcome. This fear normally prevents rational people from visiting the dentist and maintaining the health of their teeth. The key to keeping your teeth healthy is to prevent problems before they start. Those who suffer from dental anxiety will try to avoid going to the dentist, which results in problems. When someone who suffers from dental anxiety finally goes to the dentist, they normally find that even the smallest of problems can turn serious and require a lot of work and intervention from the dentist. Even though you may not realize it, regular cleaning visits to your dentist is the best way to keep your teeth healthy and prevent problems such as decay and cavities.
